Vertere Mystic II MC

Cartridge

Relative price

typical

Among the 89 cartridges in the catalogue, this one is typical.

A band places a component against its peers and carries no price. It is deliberately the only price indicator on this page: a second one, measured against a different set, would narrow the two together far enough to give the figure away.

What it is

CRITICAL LOAD COMPATIBILITY: Mystic II requires phono stage input load 850Ω – 1kΩ (NOT the typical 100Ω MC default). Many phono stages do not offer a 1kΩ load option in their MC switch positions — verify before system pairing. Vertere's own Phono-1 MkII is designed for this. Naim Stageline-S, Cyrus Phono Signature, EAR Phonobox all have configurable loads at or near 1kΩ. Rega Aura, low-end phono stages may not.

Stylus profile updated 2026-05-12: catalogued as "micro-elliptical" per Vertere documentation (Audio Venue spec page: "Precision-ground stylus with aluminium cantilever delivers ultra-responsive tracking and detailed retrieval"). The original "line-contact" attribution in the prior catalogue entry appears to have been an error — none of the current Vertere dealer pages, the brand's own documentation, or contemporary reviews describe the Mystic stylus as line-contact. This correction applies retroactively to compliance/tracking analysis.
