What it is
NEW ENTRY (2026-05-12) per currency audit. Naim 200-series streaming preamplifier, launched 2023. Designed Salisbury, UK and manufactured Salisbury + Europe. Sits between Uniti Atom (one-box) and 300-series NAC 332 (line-only flagship) in Naim hierarchy. The "200 series" consists of TWO products: NSC 222 streamer-preamp + NAP 250 power amp; intended as a "just add speakers" pairing.
Topology for vinyl-only chain: TT/cart → MM input (built-in stage) → XLR or RCA out → NAP 250 / 350 / third-party power amp → speakers. For MC cart: TT → external MC phono → RCA or DIN line input → XLR/RCA out → power amp → speakers. The 8-pin DIN ±18V output can power Naim Stageline / Superline / NVC TT phono stages.
Recognition: Stereophile review (Robert Schryer, Dec 2023): described as "feature-packed... without compromising on musical quality". Hi-Fi Choice / What Hi-Fi positive but emphasises streaming feature set. The 200-series NSC 222 + NAP 250 has become Naim's mainstream middle-rung; widely deployed at UK dealers.
