KEY POSITIONING: This is the ONLY shortlist speaker conceived from design phase to live in difficult placements. The Iota family is the canonical "speaker for anywhere" - small enough to fit on almost any shelf, with a port and crossover designed expecting wall-proximity.
CAVEATS: (1) bass extension genuinely limited to ~60Hz, so SPL capability at 3.5m may be marginal - needs SPL audit. (2) needs a capable amp (86dB sensitivity). (3) unconventional horizontal orientation may look "weird" but is acoustically sound.
ELIGIBILITY DECISION: Add to shortlist for Lo-tier consideration. Larger tiers likely prefer the Petite Classic (more bass, better SPL), but the Iota 2 fills a gap in the Lo budget where the audit currently has only 1249-1895 speakers all of which require greater stand/placement attention.
